Agility with Lynda
I started agility in 2004 with Mishka, my very active Bichon/Shih Tzu. She was too smart for her own good and after taking obedience classes I decided to try agility. After 2 series of lessons, I was hooked. We started competing when she was 20 months old and she officially retired in Oct. 2013 after completing her National Agility Champion Title. Mishka makes the occasional appearance in our Hot Diggity Dogs Agility Club's demos, loving the crowds and attention.
In 2006, a new puppy came into our household, Grace a beautiful Tri-colour Border Collie. She has given me valuable training experience. Grace is an extremely fast, energetic gal and continues to grow as an agility partner. We have titled in Rally O Obedience and it has enhanced the results that are coming in agility. In Sept. 2014, we traveled to South Jordan, Utah to compete in the annual NADAC International Championship trials. It was an awesome experience and I hope to participate again. In November 2012, I fostered a 4 year old Border Collie and in January 2013 she officially became part of our family. Fresca loves to learn and enjoys working with me as she adapts to life in the real world. Agility has give me an opportunity to increase her confidence, balance, body awareness and co-ordination. In June 2015 I purchased an awesome 15 month old tri colour smooth coat Border Collie. Kaylee is an exciting little girl and I'm looking forward to training and working with her energy and intelligence. I have found agility to be a sport that is not only challenging and fun but it has also helped me to grow personally. It has driven me to reach beyond my comfort zone to achieve levels of success I would not have thought possible. I have taken multiple series of lessons and seminars with well known agility instructors both in Canada and the U.S. to increase my knowledge and learn new training methods. Teaching others to learn this sport is not only rewarding for me but exciting when I see others enjoying the new bond with their dogs. Lynda Bowors 403-318-5481 |
